New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • February 28 – Clay Edward Bixler, 36, Spencer, Ind., was arrested on a Writ of Attachment. His bond was set at $1,500 cash only. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Greene County Jail Commander Ken Conolty was the arresting officer.
  • February 28 – Carole Anne Pearson, 45, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on an alleged violation of terms of bail in a case involving felony possession of methamphetamine. She was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Special Deputy Karen Oliphant was the arresting officer.
  • February 28 – Anthony Joe Lewis, 34, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on preliminary charges of misdemeanor domestic battery and criminal mischief. His bond was set at $1,500 surety with ten percent allowed. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Davis Aerne was the arresting officer.
  • March 1 – Vicente Garcia Guevara, 22, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of felony domestic battery and felony strangulation. His bond was set at $20,000 surety with ten percent allowed.
  • March 1 – Jeffery B. Hauger, 38, Sullivan, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of misdemeanor operating while intoxicated involving endangerment and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent allowed. Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
