New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:
- February 27 – John E. Davis, 35, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on an alleged violation of terms of bail in a case involving felony dealing of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic syringe and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Wade was the arresting officer.
- February 27 – Jeramy Jason Walls, 38, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of felony failure to register as a sex or violent offender. His bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent allowed. Greene County Jail Officer Darren McDonald was the arresting officer.
- February 27 – Ashley D. McKee, 34, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent allowed. She was released later the same day after posting bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Harvey Holt was the arresting officer.
Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
