Wayne J. Weaver of Switz City passed away Tuesday April 10 at Glenburn in Linton. He was 82 years old, born May 4, 1924 in Monroe County, the son of Earl and Delia (Carmichael) Weaver.

Mr. Weaver was retired from the IU Power Plant as an Engineer, had worked for the Farm Bureau Co-Op for several years, and his hobby was rug weaving. He was a member of the Greene County Chapel United Methodist Church, Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge and was a founding member and first Fire Chief of the Switz City Fire Department.

Survivors include his son, Roger L. (Margaret) of Switz City; one grandson, two great-granddaughters, and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian L. (Davis) Weaver and his parents.

Services were Saturday, April 14 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The place of burial was Greene Co. Chapel Cemetery.
