Mabel Gentry of Freedom, Indiana passed away Friday, May 11, 2007. She was 92 years old, born May 2, 1915 in Greene County, the daughter of David and Lucy (Bowers) Rowe.

She was a teacher at the Cuba school in Owen County, Mcville school in Greene County, and Eminence Elementary where she taught for nineteen years.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Mize and Betty (Jack) Hauser of Freedom and Beverly Knight of Richmond, Virginia; one son, Leroy (Linda) Gentry of Freedom; one sister, Grace Daugherty of Lead Hill, AR; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Owen Gentry; sister, Mary Rowe; and brothers, Dwight Rowe and Doris Alfred Rowe.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday, May 16 with Revs. David Freeman and Ron Strohe officiating at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. The place of burial was Chambersville Cemetery.
