Wampler, Mary Martha
Mary Martha Wampler of Brighton, Michigan, formerly of Worthington, passed away on October 31, 2007. She was 89 years old, born on December 18, 1917, in Evansville, Indiana.
At the age of ten, she moved to Worthington where she spent most of her life. She was a homemaker. She had been a long time member of the Worthington Christian Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women's Council. While residing in Michigan with her daughter, she was an active member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jennie Birdsall; her husband, George Wampler; her son, Jack Wampler; two brothers, James and Robert Birdsall; one sister, Grace Louise Williams; and a nephew, William Birdsall.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly (Douglas) Becker; daughter-in-law, Mitzi Wampler; grandchildren, Peter (Kelli) Becker, Leanne (Joseph) Muvrin, Jack Lee (Nicole) Wampler, Timothy Wampler, Gregory Wampler and Gary Wampler; and by great-grandchildren, Robert and Rachel Becker, Taylor, Olivia and Luke Muvrin, and Carissa Wampler; and by nieces, Sandra (John) Earle and June Adair (Paul) Brode; and nephew Mark Williams.
A memorial service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Saturday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. with Keith Bellinger officiating. Interment will be at the Worthington Cemetery following the memorial service.
Helderman, Rodney
Rodney "Rod" Helderman of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007. He was 56 years old, born August 4, 1951 in Baberton, Ohio, the son of Charles "Tom" and Madeline (Cook) Helderman.
After graduation from Worthington-Jefferson High School with the Class of '69, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine U.S.S. George Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannine; a son, Mike; a daughter, Tamara and her husband Jesse Skinner; his mother, Madeline Poole; his brother, Derek; his sister, Karen and her husband, John Hostetter; and many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Boyd, Kathleen
Kathleen Boyd of Worthington, Indiana passed away October 22, 2007 in her family home. She was 67 years old, born on November 30, 1939, in Rome, Georgia, the daughter of Irene (McDonald) and Arlow Bobbitt.
She graduated from Holks Bluff High School in 1958 and was a postal carrier and clerk for 23 years at the Worthington Post Office. She was a member of the White River Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
She loved flower gardening, photography, collecting baskets, stamps, fossils, coins and antique glassware.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Boyd of Worthington; one son, Barry Boyd of Worthington; one daughter, Connie (Kevin) Griffin of Worthington; two grandchildren, Aliza Kelly and Kristopher Boyd; four brothers, Charles, Jerry, Glenn and Ricky Bobbitt all from Ballplay, Alabama; two sisters, Barbara Coulter from Owen Crossroads, Alabama, and Carolyn Bobbitt from Ballplay, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sibling infant twins.
A funeral service was scheduled at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25 with Pastor Mike Hennie of White River Baptist Church officiating. The place of burial will be Worthington Cemetery.
