Wilkes, Jana D.
Jana D. Wilkes of Linton, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 44. She was born in Linton on February 10, 1963, the daughter of Dee Archer and Carol Mae Peoples. Jana was a housewife and devoted mother who enjoyed a part-time career in airbrush painting.
Surviving are two sons: Clint A. Wilkes of Sandborn, Indiana, and Rich A. Wilkes of Linton; her father, Dee Archer of Linton; and a sister, Denise Brochin of Linton.
Jana was preceded in death by her mother.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, August 1. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1 with Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Switz City Cemetery in Switz City, Indiana.
Freeman, Floyd W.
Floyd W. Freeman of Worthington, Indiana passed away Saturday morning, July 28, 2007, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute at the age of 59. He was born February 6, 1948 in Linton, the son of Harry and Nila Gayle (Hamlin) Freeman.
Floyd owned and operated Freeman Trucking in Worthington. He was a trucker all of his life, and had served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church, American Legion and Masonic Lodge #577 F. & A.M., all in Worthington, Elks Lodge in Linton, and Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute.
He is survived by his wife, Toni (Baker) Freeman of Worthington; his mother, Nila Gayle Talbot and step-father, Frank Talbot, of Leesburg, Florida; one son, Curtis Freeman of Worthington; one grandson, Evan Freeman of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; step-daughter, Crystal (Jeff) Mortland of Linton; step-son, Jesse (Rachel) Clark of Odon; two step-grandchildren, Lauren Mortland and Jaycee Clark; his brother, Rusty Freeman of Worthington; sister, Jane Lea Steward of Worthington; and mother-in-law, Ruth (Bob) Hubble of Linton.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Candace K. “Candy” (Crody) Freeman.
A funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1 with Keith Bellinger officiating. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call at Welch & Cornett from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The place of burial will be Worthington Cemetery. Mishler, Vivian J.
Vivian J. Mishler of Worthington passed away Friday morning, July 13, 2007, at Bloomington Hospital. She was 78 years old, born July 19, 1928, in Lawrence County to Carl and Flossie (Hunsucker) Talbott.
She retired from Sarkes Tarzan in Bloomington in 1988 with 32 years service and was a member of the Christian Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Fern Talbott and Esther McKamey; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Mishler; two sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service will be held at Worthington Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16. Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of arrangements.
Nolting, Beulah L.
Beulah L. Nolting of Linton passed away at early Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was 86 years old, born April 19, 1921, in Daviess County, the daughter of William and Ruth (Smith) Hart.
She worked at Crane NWSC during WW II and at Dearman’s in Odon during her early years. She was a member of the Saron Church in Linton, former member of the "Learn & Save" Home Economics Club and she was active with the Greene County 4-H Clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Everett Nolting, to whom she was married
March 28, 1954; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ron Rhoten of Linton; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Debra Nolting of Linton; three brothers, Ray O. Hart and his wife, Martha, of Odon, John Hart of Odon, and Fred Hart and his wife, Janet, of Linton; four sisters, Marilyn Scott and her husband, Ray, of Epson, Betty Birt of Washington, Margaret Dailey and her husband, Ralph, of Worthington, and Zelma Helderman and her husband, Harold, of Washington; five grandchildren, Dustin Nolting, Cameron Rhoten, Annelise Nolting, Chase Rhoten and Jennifer Nolting.
She was preceded by a brother, Donald Hart, and her parents.
A funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Linton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. The place of burial will be Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Friends may call from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Saron Church Women’s Guild.
Leslie, Dennise M.

Dennise M. Leslie of Freedom, Indiana, mother of Jeffrey Kennedy and Christopher Kennedy, was killed in the line of duty as a volunteer firefighter responding to a fire on July 2, 2007. She was 40 years old, born March 26, 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dennise was a North Vigo High School graduate and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was a childcare provider, a licensed foster parent, and had driven a Special Needs bus for the Spencer-Owen Community School System.
Dennise was a volunteer firefighter with the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department where she had held the positions of Secretary and President. She was also a member of the Owen County Rescue Team and the Rope and Water Rescue Team. She was certified in mandatory fire fighting, NIMS 100,200,700, EVOC, CPR, First Aid, basic auto extraction, and AED.
Mrs. Leslie is survived by her husband of 10 years, Robert W. Leslie; sons Christopher Kennedy, at home, and Jeffrey (Alicia) Kennedy of Paxton, Indiana; her father, Dennis Neal of Terre Haute; her grandfather, Jim Edward Sr. of Terre Haute; her mother and step-father, Jim and Diana L. (Delp) Edwards of West Terre Haute; brother, Daniel Neal of West Terre Haute and sister, Jamie Edwards of West Terre Haute; grandparents Gerald Delp of Newport, Marjorie Parsley of Vettersburg and Rose Neal of Athens, Tennessee.
A funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7 at the Owen Valley High School Auditorium in Spencer. Visitation will be 4:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, also at the school. West & Parish & Pedigo Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the children in care of the funeral home.
