Ball, Christina Ruth
Christina Ruth “Chris” Ball of Worthington passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. She was 69 years old, born March 16, 1938 in Sullivan, the daughter of Homer and Ruby (Kirkpatrick) Reynolds.
Mrs. Ball had worked at Ball-Spencer Photography for over 20 years and she was a member of Worthington Tri Kappa.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon “Butch” Ball of Worthington; two children, Debbie (Larry) Swan of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Randy (Betty) Ball of Worthington; three sisters, Joan (Marvin) Littiken of Illinois, Sue (Jack) Chambers of Sullivan and Kathy (Bobby) Wolfe of Dugger.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service at Stanley Cemetery was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 with Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington assisting with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to the Worthington-Jefferson Township Public Library at the funeral home.
Jamison, Doris Gay
Doris Gay Jamison of Spencer, formerly of Worthington, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer. She was 84 years old, born April 3, 1923 in Greene County, the daughter of Lee and Blanche (Sesney) Harris.
She was a beautician, homemaker, and worked for several years as a cook at Worthington Jefferson High School.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Trudy) Jamison of Spencer and Tom (Mary) Jamison of Greenwood; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Harris of Leesburg; and one sister, Olive Gilman of Sun City, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund D. Jamison; three brothers, Kenneth, Wilbur and Rex Harris; and one sister, Dorothy Harris.
The place of burial will be Worthington Cemetery. A private family service will be held there on Saturday, April 28. Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington is assisting with the arrangements.
Phillips, Dickie A.
Dickie A. Phillips of Worthington passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at his home. He was 59 years old, born August 8, 1947 in Owen County, son of Lawrence and Iva Lena (Rennard) Phillips.
He formerly owned D & J Trash Service, P & P Construction, and was an auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Connie (Hines) Phillips of Worthington; five children, Lloyd Phillips of Florida, Tammara Miller of Linton, Cindy Roth of Indianapolis, Sherry Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, and Dickie Phillips of Worthington; four step-children, Chris Freeman of Spencer, and Kenneth, Matthew and Tabitha Lowther, all of Worthington; 18 grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Phillips of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Martha “Marty” (Lowther) Phillips.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The place of burial will be Worthington Cemetery.
Booe, Charles
Charles “Charlie” Booe of Terre Haute, formerly of Clay City, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was 68 years old, born March 30, 1939 in Romona, the son of Don Booe and Valley McGinnis Booe.
He was the owner and operator of Don Booe & Sons Lumber in Clay City, had served in the Indiana Army National Guard, and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Spond Finke Booe of Terre Haute; three sons, Chad Booe of Franklin, Craig Booe and his wife Lisa Jo of Linton, and Chris Booe and his wife Christina of Centerpoint; one daughter, Cheri Brown of Lewis; one brother, Joe Booe of Clay City; and three sisters, Wanda Wells, Karen Cooprider and Jennifer Buehl, all of Clay City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Cheryl Weston Booe.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 22 at Northside Church of Christ in Terre Haute. The place of burial was Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City. Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home in Terre Haute assisted with the arrangements.
Davis, Madalyn V.
Madalyn V. Davis of Bloomfield passed away Monday, April 16 at Lyons Health and Living Center. She was 85 years old, born March 24, 1922 in Greene County, the daughter of Clayton and Blanche (Klinger) Rodocker.
She was retired as the Bookkeeper for Bloomfield Manufacturing, homemaker, member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Greene County Extension Homemakers Club.
Survivors include: her husband, Carl Davis of Bloomfield; one son, Gregory C. Davis of Bloomfield; one daughter, Melanie Sutphin of Bloomfield; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were April 18 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The place of burial was Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
