Booe, Charles

Charles “Charlie” Booe of Terre Haute, formerly of Clay City, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was 68 years old, born March 30, 1939 in Romona, the son of Don Booe and Valley McGinnis Booe.

He was the owner and operator of Don Booe & Sons Lumber in Clay City, had served in the Indiana Army National Guard, and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Spond Finke Booe of Terre Haute; three sons, Chad Booe of Franklin, Craig Booe and his wife Lisa Jo of Linton, and Chris Booe and his wife Christina of Centerpoint; one daughter, Cheri Brown of Lewis; one brother, Joe Booe of Clay City; and three sisters, Wanda Wells, Karen Cooprider and Jennifer Buehl, all of Clay City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Cheryl Weston Booe.

A memorial service was held Sunday, April 22 at Northside Church of Christ in Terre Haute. The place of burial was Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City. Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home in Terre Haute assisted with the arrangements.
