Lawhead, Richard L.
Richard L. Lawhead of Worthington passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Linton Nursing Home. "Bud" was 87 years old, born August 17, 1920, in Edwardsport, Indiana, the son of Roscoe and Daisy (Everett) Lawhead.
He was retired from the North Knox School Corporation as a janitor with 20 years of service and he formerly was a coal miner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandborn, was an Army Veteran of WW II, a member of the Worthington Senior Citizens Center and also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (White) Lawhead of Worthington; three children, Barry (Sylvia) Lawhead of Elnora, Randy (Marilou) Lawhead of Linton and Jeri Dee Lawhead of Lafayette; three step-children, Judy Oran of Dale, Kim Watson of Worthington and Bobbi Harper of Worthington; one sister, Burtrice Pepmier of Bicknell; five granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; his first wife, Barbara Jean (Lind) Lawhead in 1987; one daughter, Sherri Lawhead; a brother and sister.
A funeral service was conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Saturday, March 22 with Bro. Terry Dowell officiating. The place of burial was Sandborn Cemetery.
