Larry's Bookmobile

This is an announcement.  "Listen up"  as they used to say in the Navy.  I am collaborating with my family to write my sixth book.  Its working title is 'Indiana From A to Z' and will be comprised of stories, oddities, quirky people and events, places and things that define Hoosiers or Indiana.  I am including the viaduct and the sycamore tree from this area.  I would appreciate hearing from readers with their suggestion on topics that I could use in the book.  It will be formatted liek the dictionary with subheadings under each letter of the alphabet.  Let me hear from you.

The scripture states, "Of the writing of books there is no end."  That is so true.  When I walk into a Walden, Barnes & Noble or Borders, I am overwhelmed by the avalanche of books available for purchase.  So I have added to the number.

I have written five books and proudly offer them for sale.   I write to cause readers to remember that life is a joy and is meant to be lived that way.  I am no pollyanna.  Life can be difficult and very challenging but I don't want to forget that good will prevail.

Therefore, I tell stories that are meant to cause you to reminisce about the good times.  Some stores will bring a tear to your eye as you remember.  Others will make you laugh because you have had similar experiences.  Some will take you to a time and place that you will not want to leave.

My first book is titled, "Bumps In The Road [Things I have Run Across]" and has many stories about Calvertville, Worthington, Bloomfield and the surrounding area in Indiana.  It also chronicles many events in our family life.  [$24 includes tax and shipping.] 560 pages.

My second book is titled, "Life In The Past Lane."  I don't know about you but that is where my life is except for today.  [$17.85 total.]  200 pages

My third book is titled, "There's a Booger In There and Other Little Audrey Stories."  Audrey is our first granddaughter and she was born premature weighing only one pound 14 ounces.  I chronicle her struggle to live and buttressed by faith and prayer and wonderful medical people she survived and today is a vibrant, blue-eyed, blond first grade student.  Did I tell you she is also very smart?  Takes after her Grampa Van.  This book gives hope to parents of preemie children and makes a wonderful gift to them.  You will have to read the book to know what the title means.  [$17.85 total] 105 pages

My fourth book is titled, "You Might Be A Geezer."  It is a humorous look at those of us who are older than the posted speed limit.  There is an article in the AARP Constitution that sayeth, "Thou shalt not writeth about Geezers nor maketh sporteth of them unless thou art one thyself."  (KJV)  I am a geezer now so I am licensced.  Some have read it and laughed so heartily that their false teeth flew out and skidded across the floor with the dog chasing them.  [$17.85 total] 250 pages

My fifth book is titled, "Dr. Larry's Patented Home Remedy."  In the title I encourage readers to read two stories and call me in the morning.  This book will make you feel better, your step will be lighter and your attitude will be more positive.  I guarantee it.  If you don't see those results after reading this book I will gladly refund the complete purchase price.  Get your rebate authorization slip at the Calvertville Store, complete it and return it to the home office in Asphaltum, Indiana.  Please allow eight to ten years for your refund to reach you.  [$18.50 total] 320 pages

All books are formatted in Microsoft Word.
